Sundance said "The next step beyond incentives for low flush toilets should be restrictions on renos and new houses. They must install a low flush toilet into the bathroom on a new house or a renovated bathroom.
We are one of the highest users of water per capita and it would be a good idea to decrease our water consumption.
Why has grey water reuse not been suggested?"

Sundance said "Why are surrounding towns able to take plastics 1 through 7, but Red Deer will only take 2's? That is a lot of plastic that ends up in the land fill.

Reducing the 5 bag limit of garbage to 3 bags or less would make a big difference in the amount of what citizens will recycle
5 bags of garbage really is not a limit. I think in Ookotoks the limit is two and then you have to purchase tags if you want to put out more.

Sundance said "There does not seem to be anything in the plan that addresses greenhouse gases and what we do to decrease them.
There needs to be more concrete measures taken to decrease idling."

janndyck said "To go along with the environmental issues with water, something small that adds up is the showers in our recreation facilities. The Collicut and Dawe from my experience have public showers inside the pool facilities that have manual valves on them that are constantly left on by people with no conscience. Removing these manual valves and replacing them with timed flow valves would save a considerable amount of water."

Scotty said "Yesterday I walked from my home in Glendale to the Red Deer City Soccer Association office in the Edgar Industrial area. I shed 6-8km off of my walk there by going up and over rail cars. I need a pedestrian bridge over the train tracks. A complete trail needs to extend and connect from the soccer field beside Nossack meats on Johnstone drive to the bus stop beside Cal Frac on 7310 Edgar Industrial drive. Also, it is extremely dangerous to walk in the Edgar Industrial area. There are no sidewalks! There needs to be maintained sidewalks in the Edgar Industrial area. The city approved recreational areas in the Edgar Industrial park. The city needs to make the Baseball and Soccer fields accessible to pedestrians. "

gkingston said "Why have i not heard of a walkability audit before and how do we go about performing one on our area??? If you expect residents to "do the work" for you, they need to know how and where to get the information. We're often willing as we all benefit from it but we have to know it exsists!"
